I know I’m a relatively small fish in a rather big pond and that compared to yours, mine is a puny, unsubstantial operation. And you were almost certainly on vacation and perhaps didn’t want to think about books on your time off. Okay, fine. But if you’re going to stand outside my shop and discuss the other bookshops in the area AND name drop other book dealers AND comment on my books, and do all of this in a voice I can hear AND continue to do so even after you notice me sitting behind the counter…Well, the least you could have done is saunter in and introduce yourself.
